Some time spent in meta-mode is necessary, trying to converge on “best” thing, representation, honing in, refining, condensing. BUT too much time here leads to (mental) constipation and is pointless because you figure stuff out on the go and a lot of the top-down thinking done here is unravelled by the bottom-up working. Need to oscillate.
